Dry face is a common condition in which the skin layer becomes itchy, tight and at times very rough. There are several remedies for dry skin. This can be home made or by purchasing products such as moisturizers from the shops. Examples include vinegar and oatmeal. There are also various moisturizers and moisture for dry faces. There are a number of factors that cause dry face.
The skin is soft and smooth due to the presence oil glands beneath the skin, usually called the dermis. The failure of oil glands to supply sufficient lubrication to the skin may cause skin dryness hence the face becomes dry. One should therefore eat balanced diet. This includes fatty foods. It is however important to notice that fatty foods should not be consumed in plenty. Examples are groundnuts, milk etc.
The heating indoors removes traces of moisture and aggravates the dryness; therefore in winter it dries extremely. Genetic factors may also cause dry skin whereby the dryness can be inherited. Nutritional deficiencies due to unbalanced diet may also be a contributing factor. Extreme weather conditions may also be harmful to the skin e.g. staying in the sun for a very long time in very hot weather can cause paleness and dry skin. It is a necessity to use gentle bathing soaps especially medicated soaps for the face.
Some diseases like diabetes and eczema also leads to the dryness of the skin. Experts have also identified consumption of spicy and dry bitter foods as causes of dry skin. The condition can be treated naturally. Ayurveda recommends very good and natural ways of treatment. Massaging the face with herbal oil is the best method.
Aging men and women should use moisturizers and gels. This is because as during aging, the skin loses its turgidity and becomes very lose. This causes dry skin. Aloe Vera products enable the wrinkles to appear late, leaving the skin soft and glowing.
The dry skincare kit provides the best herbal treatment with infused oil massage as it comes with all the tested products. This strongly recommends sesame oil as the base oil. The home remedy for dry skin is a step by step process. A mixture of egg yolk and limewater can also be applied gently on the face. It is important to leave the mixture to penetrate the skin for about 25minutes.Wash the face with warm clean water.
It is also helpful to use face masks e.g. a mask of honey and egg mixed with olive. In extreme conditions, it is very advisable to see a skin specialist who will recommend the best prescription. Treatment involves tablets, or administering of a diet like herbal tea, taking a lot of fruit juices. This should be taken often depending on prescription.
It is equally healthy to wash and oil the face before going to bed.
